The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sonia Erskine can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Joan Bradley

I met Sonny in 1956 when we were both freshmen at MCI coming small towns as I came from Detroit. We soon became life long friends. I remember when Sonny introduced me to her boyfriend Bobby Erskin. Sonny was a country girl while I was a city girl. But be that as it may we always kept in touch. We called ourselves the "Ya-Ya" girls. I live in Florida while Sonny lived in Maine but thanks to email, we kept in touch every other month. Rest In Peace dear friend. Soon the "Ya-Ya's" will all be together again laughing and raising a ruckus. Natalie McGuire Mandell Sonia was my classmate at MCI and I and the other Detroit Girls soon became friends. I admired her right off for boarding by herself in Pittsfield to go to school there. When we had any get-together, she was always the organizer and was still when we re-connected in our sixties. She came up with the idea of the YaYa Sisters and we had a lot of fun with that. Her energy, hard work and enthusiasm will always be remembered. We love and miss her, Joan Basford Bradley All my love Natalee and Don Mandell
