My Best Friend!

I met Freddy over thirty years ago, we worked together at Getchell Bros, and after a short time being around Fred, I knew we would be friends forever! We had a lot in common, we both liked trucks! I grew up in a truck, because My Dad was a trucker, and I thought nobody likes trucks more than me!, but boy was I wrong.
We had a lot of fun, made a lot of memories. I kind of looked up to Fred, because of his demeanor, his disposition, the way he looked at life. I never met a more kind and courteous person. I often wondered why I couldn't be like Fred, a man that could overlook ignorance, confrontation, something I still struggle with to this day!  he was never belligerent,  mean,  careless or cold, he always had a good attitude, and when I met his mom, then I knew why Fred was such a good man! She has been like a mother to me! I remember When we took Fred to the races with us,in Loudon, NH, first time he'd ever been there, my boys and I , Fred, and Joe Briggs, I know he had the time of his life! He was the brother I never had! He loved his family and friends, and lets not forget Montana! He absolutely loved his dog! As I said He loved trucks, big trucks, Peterbuilts! I would say Freddy I drive Freightliner, and he would smile and say!....Freightshaker, I feel sorry for ya! I remember when I drove for Jeff Paine, he would wait for me at night, so we could follow each other down the road, he loved it, especially because now I was driving a Peterbuilt!   he loved what he did for a living!, and he was the best at it! the way he kept his equipment, not only his personal stuff, but his trucks he drove for work, the way he took care of them , was second to none! If you looked up trucker in the dictionary, Fred's name would be there. Fred A Kenney Sr. Professional! I will miss him more than words can say!  Not that long ago Freddy and I went to Dysart's for breakfast, and he was talking about what Jered, and the boys at the shop was doing to his rig, they were adding more gadgits, and what not, and I said Freddy what is it about that truck that you love so much, he took a sip of his coffee, looked up at me and replied,....HEY NOW,......CHROME!!
