Condolence: Dear Mrs. Pilotte: Although we have never met, I first met David when I was 5 and he was 6. We had our appendix' out simultaneously. He said to me "i'll show you mine if you show me your's, as my mom walked into our room. She nearly fainted, when actually he was speaking of our scar's...hee hee. I knew him through high school and we were neighbors. We recently reconnected to reflect. He told me of his happiness thoughout his life. I was so happy to hear that and how much he loved his wife and dogs. My best recollection of David is that I can honestly say he treated the people he new as "You've got a Friend", one of the many songs we sang in high school when times for him were very different. I know he smiling down on all those he left behind and sitting on a cloud with those he is once again joining in the afterlife. Thank you David, for being a childhood friend and giving lifetime memories. Prayers for you Jan, that you get through this challenging time with the wonderful memories you and he have created during your life together. Know that he will be waiting for you again someday! Condolence: Dear Jan, My heart goes out to you for the loss of David. What a vibrant, kind, fun loving great guy he was.
I met David when I applied for a job at the Chuck Wagon. He was a manager and hired me. He was just a great person and co-worker. He brightened everyone's day. I remember you coming in to visit on your run, and the love and happiness you shared was evident. I have run into him a few time over the years and it was always a joy to see him. I've seen you over the years at church and at the hospital, always with a big smile and kind friendly manor.
Your tribute to Dave was beautiful and touched my heart. My sincere sympathy to you. My thoughts and Prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Joan Bowman

If Roland were here he would indeed be joining me in sending you our mutual deepest and most heartfelt sympathies and condolences. One day at a time is the way it is in moving forward in this time of grief and sorrow. Know that I am thinking of you and do so appreciate your thoughts for me when Roland passed and I do hold you in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Dear Jan,
I was so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. I still can't quite believe it. Please know that you are in my family's thoughts and prayers.
Dave has always been on my "so glad our paths crossed" list. Meeting by chance as a kid in my first real job, at a local restaurant, Dave's wonderful gifts were immediately apparent. With my older brother, Peter, already a workmate of Dave's, I was quickly christened "RePete." "Pete and RePete," David laughed, moments after our meeting. Then, he was back to work with that determined stride of his. Dave was one cool guy.
At the Chuck Wagon restaurant, Dave was always the one with the patience, leadership, quick smile and kindness that was the heart of the place. He touched everyone, and not just through his careful meal preparation. He seemed to care about everyone and everything he came into contact with. He was someone you were glad to know.
As we ran into each other over the passing years, that forever-youthful twinkle remained in his eyes, assuring me that our shared memories of closing "kitchen beer" and salad bar garbanzo beans were alive and well. It was always a pleasure seeing you both, as we all grew older.
I feel very fortunate to have known and worked with Dave and will miss him. My heart goes out to you, Jan, and please know that a great many of us were made better people, and our community a better place, because of him – and the loving example you both showed us.

Condolence: Jan, I only met David a few times and that was 40 years ago. Your beautiful tribute to a life well lived describes a flame that shone bright; a vibrant soul that gave much to others. Reminds me of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and may you find some comfort in those who remain (including the pups) to help you bear the pain of loss.
