William "Barney" G. Wallace

Kenduskeag, Maine - William "Barney" G. Wallace Jr., 86, died peacefully August 18, 2025, at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 2, 1939, in Bangor, the son of William and Jeanne (Finnegan) Wallace.

Barney grew up in Bangor. He attended Bangor schools before joining the U.S. Navy in 1957. He was especially proud to serve in the Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned to Bangor and pursued a career in industrial sales. He retired from CPI Controls of Pawtucket, RI, as branch manager of CPI North in 2006. He and his wife, Sally, enjoyed traveling to many national parks, Hawaii and Las Vegas. He enjoyed hiking, photography, and bird watching. After retirement, they spent 17 winters in Cape Canaveral, FL.

Barney is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Sally (Strickland) Wallace of Kenduskeag; two sons, William Wallace III (Leslie) of West Grove, PA, and Christopher Wallace of Milford, ME; four grandchildren, Christina, JoHannah, Caroline and Spencer; two sisters, Patti Downes (Phil) and Lynne Beal (Bob); two sisters-in-law, Barbara Wallace and Patty Young (Clifford); and three generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Warren; and daughter, Wendy Veinot.

Special thanks for the loving support he received from his nephew, Tom Wallace; close friends, Christine and Joe Beres; and neighbors, Patti and Gary Rollins. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph Hospital for their support and care.
