Verla Mae Lucas

Hampden - Verla Mae (Robinson) Lucas, 88, died August 17, 2026. She was born on February 14, 1938, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the oldest of seven children of Perley and Myrtle Robinson.

Verla attended Garland schools, graduated from Higgins Classical Institute, and Eastern Beauty School. She married Frank S. Lucas in 1957.

Verla was active in the Hampden Garden Club, where she served as President, and was a proud VFW Auxiliary Member for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frank S. Lucas; her son, Craig Lucas; and her grandson, Patrick Manning.

Verla is survived by her daughters, Lisa Lucas-Manning and Michele Littlefield. A talented artist, Verla painted and taught watercolors to others. A proud grandmother and great-grandmother, Verla found her six special grandsons and their families a source of joy: J. Ryan Robinson, Christopher Robinson, Patrick Manning, James Manning, Andrew Lucas, and Matthew Lucas.
