Timothy Farren

Timothy Esten Farren, 64, of Bangor, Maine, passed away April 30th, 2025 at a Bangor Hospital after enduring a brave battle with cancer. Tim was born on April 29th, 1961 in Ellsworth, Maine.

Tim was a Bangor High School 1979 graduate, frequently referencing his time there through memories of ROTC, shooting team, playing in the band and beginning his love for cooking at Mama Baldacci's. Upon graduation Tim worked alongside his mother and father in the family business at Quality Printers. Tim served honorably in the Air Force from 1985-1991, earning the Expeditionary Medal for his role in operation Praying Mantis. Shortly thereafter Tim began his career within financial planning. During this time, he committed his efforts to clients that more often than not, became friends. Tim sought adventure in all that he did, frequenting South Africa and Zimbabwe for his company, Farren Safaris. He obtained his captain license in his retirement years, chartering a boat for Bar Harbor Whale Watching Company. When he wasn't working, he could be found trekking the Maine woods, lighting up a cigar in the backyard, or writing his next novel.

Tim was known for his honesty, integrity, and commitment to a faith led life. He was a man of God that knew and lived by the Word. Tim was a dedicated husband of 43 years, survived by wife, Valerie. He was an exceptional father to Anna and son-in-law, Jordan; a doting Papa to Rhys, Jaden, Emilia, and Esten; a faithful son to Floyd "Bud" and Marlene; a true brother to Terry, Mark and Jimbo; an uncle that exemplified life to his many nieces and nephews. Tim was a friend, father, brother, son, Papa, confidant, veteran, man of faith, comedian, chef, adventurer, advisor and many more. His life was best exemplified by Corinthians 13: 4-8, he loved those around him always prioritizing others above himself.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 5-7pm Friday, May 9, 2025 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where funeral services will be held on 10am Saturday, May 10, 2025. The family invited relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, following the service. Interment will be private.
