Corinna, Maine - Thomas "Tom" E. Hall Sr., 79, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness. Tom was born in Bangor, the son of Walter and Virginia Hall. Tom grew up in Brewer and graduated from Brewer High School before serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.
Tom wore may hats throughout his life; loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He had a contagious smile and loved to joke around and play with his grandkids.
Tom worked many jobs over the years, delivering milk, well drilling, shoe shop foreman, owner and partner with his wife of greenhouses and a redemption center in Corinth, ME. After his retirement he spent time working for Hannaford and Lee Auto in Newport, ME, and Food Lion in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he spent several months during the winter. Tom was lovingly known as the "Can Man" during his redemption years.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed golfing, playing pool, bowling, puttering around his camp and his partner, Becky's house, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching his and Becky's grandchildren do sports, plays, concerts, and dancing. He and his wife, Rebecca, were also members of the Jaycees in their younger years.
Tom was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Rebecca Hall; and his sons, Joel, Brian, and Anthony; his parents; and his brother, Warren. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Hall Jr. (Ginny) and Walter (Kristi); and his daughter, Jennifer Sullivan (Steve). He was blessed to be a grandfather to Desiree, Gary, Lee (Ashley), Stephanie Pomeroy (Ryan), Cody, Charlie, Jacob (Jessica), Lucas, and Mady. He also leaves behind his sisters, Ruth Mary Pooler and Linda Cook; his beloved and loving partner of 12 years, Becky Thompson, and her family; as well as several great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brookings-Smith Funeral Home, 133 Center St., Bangor followed by a celebration of life on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Carl Schreiber, of East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. The burial will be immediately after at Corinthian Cemetery, Exeter Road, Corinth.
A reception will be held at Tom's camp in Corinna following the burial. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Tom may make donations in his honor to Sarah's House of Maine, 346 Main Rd., Holden, ME 04429.
