Theoline LeBlanc

August 29, 1935 — November 25, 2025

Theoline LeBlanc passed peacefully on November 25, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience and community. Born in Fort Kent, Maine, on August 29, 1935, she was the third of sixteen children. From an early age, Theoline embraced responsibility, working on the family farm and caring for her younger siblings- a foundation that shaped her lifelong devotion to family.

A proud graduate of Bangor High School in 1952, Theoline was a baton twirler in the marching band, displaying her spirited nature from a young age. After high school she dedicated 29 years to the Viner Shoe factory in Bangor. When the factory closed, she transitioned to Eastern Maine Medical Center where she sterilized surgical equipment for 18 years. Her commitment and work ethic were admired by all who knew her. Upon retirement, she and her beloved husband, Rudy, moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine together.

Theoline's life was filled with vibrant interests. She and Rudy were accomplished bowlers, winning five doubles championships. She found joy in knitting, creating comfort blankets for animal shelters and cozy comforters for family members. Dancing was another passion-whether at home or at community events, especially those held at the Maine Air National Guard. When line dancing became popular, she eagerly joined in with Rudy and friends, never missing an opportunity to celebrate life through movement.

Known for her hospitality, Theoline always hosted family holiday gatherings and lively pool parties, bringing loved ones together and creating cherished memories. In 2001, she and Rudy moved to Summerfield, Florida, where they enjoyed pickleball, swimming, cribbage leagues and traveling. After losing Rudy, her husband of 54 years, Theoline returned to Maine in 2015 and resided at Dirigo Pines in Orono.

In 2023, Theoline's early life was commemorated in a book titled "The Soil of our Ancestors", capturing the first 25 years of her journey and preserving her story for future generations.

Theoline is survived by her sons, John (Heidi) and Paul (Erika); five beloved grandchildren, Nick LeBlanc of Boston, Kate Valley and Seth Freudenberger of Bangor, Oli Toner and Phoebe Toner of Brookline NH. Her grandchildren affectionately called her "Chum," a testament to the special bond she shared with each of them.

Theoline will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with warmth, kindness and unwavering support. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 5-8pm, Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
