Shirley Barbara Seekins

With heavy hearts, we must announce that Shirley Barbara Seekins, of Hampden, Maine, left this world, and was welcomed into heaven on May 8, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving behind a life filled with love, faith, and deep devotion to her family.

Her faith was an important part of her life, and she treasured the time she spent at church and with her church family. It brought her comfort, strength, and a sense of belonging throughout her life.

Shirley found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She worked side-by-side with her husband, John, keeping the books for Seekins Fence Company. Shirley also found peace in gardening. She loved tending her garden and watching her plants flourish, while canning as much as she could, a quiet reflection of the care and attention she gave to the people she loved.

Upon retirement, she spent many happy years traveling throughout the United States in a camper with her husband, making memories along the way and embracing the adventures they shared. Those years on the road were a special part of her life.

More than anything, Shirley loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandson were the center of her world. She took pride in each of them and cherished every visit, conversation, and shared moment. Her love was steady, unconditional, and felt by all who knew her.

She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her quiet strength, and the deep love she gave so freely. The lessons she shared and the warmth she brought to others will remain in the hearts of her family and friends always. She shared powerful hugs with everyone, making them feel welcome.

Shirley is lovingly survived by daughter, Melanie Campbell and spouse, Bud Campbell; daughter, Melinda Barnes; son, Michael Seekins and spouse, Laurie; daughter, Melissa Gould; 10 special grandchildren, Cory Campbell and spouse, Becky; Beth Libby and spouse, Justin; Kaitlynn Colson, and spouse, Tyler; John Seekins and spouse, Brooke; Michael Cote and spouse, Macie; 14 great grandchildren, Emma Pellitier and spouse, Jesse, Alyse McCullough and spouse, Ryan, Grace Campbell, Will Libby, Brody Libby, Audrey Libby, Connor Seekins, Samuel Colson, Mathew Seekins, Avery Colson, Oliver Cote, Simon Cote; and great, great grandson, Caden Pellitier. She will also be missed by her church family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John Seekins; her son-in-law, Wayne Barnes; and her grandsons, Joshua Campbell and Anthony Cote.

A graveside service will be held on May 20, 2026, at 1:00pm, at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rt 152 Pittsfield Ave, Hartland, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nealley's Corner Church, in honor of Shirley's life and faith.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
