HAMPDEN - Sandra Ann "Sandy" Page, 86, died June 26, 2026, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Bangor on May 19, 1940, the daughter of C. Everett "Rip" and Vivienne (Wing) Page.
Sandy grew up in Bangor. A proud graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1958, she continued her education at Barbizon School of Modeling, New York City, in 1959. Following a brief modeling career, she returned to Bangor where she was an Assistant Buyer in Freese's Department Store. Sandy began her secretarial career at Eaton Peabody Law Firm in Bangor, before moving to Philadelphia where she was employed at the University of Pennsylvania for 7 years. She returned to Maine in 1970, settled in Hampden, and was a medical secretary for 2 years before becoming employed in the Psychology Department at the University of Maine, where she remained for 30 years, retiring in 2002.
Sandy attended First United Methodist Church in Bangor. She joined Beta Sigma Phi International sorority in 1962, where she was an active member for years. She was Past President of both Philadelphia and Eastern Maine Area City Councils, and was honored as City-Wide Girl of the Year in Philadelphia, as well as being the first Sister of the Year for Eastern Maine Area Council. Sandy took great pleasure in working on the Planning Committee for several of her high school reunions, as well as planning other events that helped keep her classmates connected. Sandy's other great joy was being fortunate to take numerous Caribbean & Panama Canal cruises with her mom and later with her friend whom Sandy affectionately referred to as "sister", Pam.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her brother, Richard A. Page, of South Carolina. She is survived by her niece, Cindy Lazicki and her husband, Chris, and their family; dear friend, Pam Lounsbury, of Pennsylvania, who was like a sister; several very close friends including Noreen Kent, Anita Roy, Ruth-Marie Spellman, & Nancy Tracy, Toni and Nick Barboza and their family, and Gail Lombardi; and several cousins.
