Sally Ann (Augherton) Taylor

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our mother, Sally Ann (Augherton) Taylor on October 28, 2025.

She was born in Bangor on January 10, 1934, one of four children born to Howard and Mary (Simmons) Augherton.

Sally attended schools in both Bangor and Millinocket. She was a devoted mother and friend to her four children and was passionate about all animals. She was a woman of faith and attended St. John's Church in Bangor and St. Joseph's Church and St. Teresa's Church in Brewer.

For the past several years Sally resided with her devoted daughter and caretaker, Julie.

Besides her parents, Sally was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Dumont and Patricia Varney, one brother, Howard "Buddy"Augherton and a grandson, Trevor Taylor.

She is survived by her four children Dawn Alley and her partner, Donald Duncanson, of Portland and Florida, Charles, Jr. of Glenburn, Daniel and his wife Corinne of California, and Julie of Bangor. She is survived by two grandsons, Ryan Herbert and Hayden Tayor and one great granddaughter, Aveigha Hammond. Sally also leaves behind a special nephew, David Mackin and his wife Sandra and nephew Mark Augherton and wife Stacy.

The family would like to thank her favorite caregivers at the Maine Veterans Home, Sherry, Kayla, Amanda and Elaine. Last but not least, a special thanks to her best pal, little Jefferson who spent nights at the foot of her bed and visited with her throughout the day. She really loved his company.
