Brewer-Ruth M. Cole, 89, died February 15, 2026, at home with her loving family, after a long illness. She was born on November 27, 1936 in Danforth, Me.
Ruth worked for Footman's Dairy for many years and later worked for Grants Dairy. Once retired, she went back to work at A.C. Moore.
She enjoyed crafting, especially sewing and her embroidery machine. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.
She is survived by her two loving sons, James Cole and his wife, Billie Jo, Edward Cole and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Misty Sweden and her partner, Jerry Price, Justin Cole, her very special grandson, Alex Cole and his wife, Rachel, Jaimie Bragg and her husband, Corey, Jonathan Parkhurst and his wife, Katie; great grandchildren, Bentley, Hudson, Jayden, Braedon, Chase, Beau, Olivia and her namesake Aubrey Ruth; sister, Nancy Drake and her special dogs, Jake and Max who she spoiled rotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ollie and Lucinda (Kinney) Walsh; stepfather, Whitney Hanson; loving husband of 42 years, Howard F. Cole; stepchildren, Carolyn Davidson, Howard F. Cole, Jr.; her brothers, Earl Walsh, Maurice Kinney, Richard Walsh, Dennis Walsh, Charles Hanson; her two sisters, Eleanor Cross and Nina Bowden.
A Graveside Service will be held for Ruth M. Cole on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 180 S. Main Street, Brewer. Following the service, a gathering for friends and family will be held at Ed and Lisa Cole's house, 12 Beacon Street, Brewer.
