Ronald G. Higgins, 69, passed away at a Bangor hospital Friday, October 24, 2014. He was born February 5, 1945 in Irvington, New Jersey, the son of Ernest W. and Erma (Gould) Higgins. Ronald joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for 23 years. He served in Viet Nam, Europe, and various stateside assignments. He was a proud member of the VFW and the American Legion. In his spare time he loved to fish, hunt, and spend time at the family camp. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ronald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margot; son Tommy and wife Donna; daughter Michelle Robertson and husband Tracy; grandchildren Michaela and Blake; brothers Rodney and Philip; sister Erma; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by brothers Johnny, Robert, Elwyn, and Howard. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October the 27th, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshment at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., following the service.
