Roger L. Hanson, 92, passed away surrounded by family on August 13, 2026, at The Lodges Assisted Living in Springvale, ME. He was born March 22, 1934, in New Sweeden, ME to Hildur and R. Lincoln Hanson.

Roger grew up on a farm where he worked with his father, from an early age. Later he married and had 2 daughters, Shirley and Sandy. Roger worked at various farms in Maine and Connecticut. Later he lived and worked in Rockland, ME at the Farnsworth Museum. Roger's last job was with Camden National Bank where he retired. Roger was very active in his local church as a long-time member in Brewer, ME. He was also very physically active and enjoyed the outdoors, including daily walks. One could often find Roger at the local Dunkin Donuts for conversation as well!

Surviving are his daughter Shirley Corbin and her husband Fred Corbin of North Berwick, ME and their son Cole Corbin and wife Katelyn Corbin. Daughter Sandy Hanson and wife Sara Hanson of Rochester, MA, their children Luke and Noah Hanson. Also surviving is Roger's sister Gloria Underwood of Delaware, as well as various nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by a brother, Hartley Hanson.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10-11am, August 26, 2026, with a funeral service to follow at 11am at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, ME. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, directly after the service. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
