Robert G. McCullen, 93, passed away July 8, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Ill. Bob joined the military at a young age; he served for 23 years in both Korea and Vietnam. After retirement he worked for the U.S. Postal service for 19 years, serving as Postmaster of Milford for 15 of those years.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Milford and held many positions. Bob then joined the Cardville Baptist Church and served as lay pastor for 14 years. Then he joined Essex Street Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, a choir member and preacher when needed.
Bob was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Lillia May (Haskell) McCullen, and his second wife, Evelyn Mayhew; grandsons, Isaac Greenlaw and Aarron Spinney.
Surviving are six children, Nancy Greenlaw (Gary), Everard McCullen (Molly), John McCullen (Linda), David McCullen, Barbie Ayer (Donald), Joshua McCullen (Elizabeth); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 3pm until time of service. A reception will be held at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor, immediately following the service.
