Robert "Bigfoot" Martin

Bradley- Robert “Bigfoot” Martin, 77 passed away on April 10, 2025 at home, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Old Town October 15, 1947, the son of Robert and Margaret (Labree) Martin.

Bob graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to1972, stationed in Belgium. Bob was employed at the Old Town papermill for 37 years. Bob and Marie settled in Bradley, where they raised their two sons. They celebrated 54 years of marriage in March. Bob had a passion for farming and spending time at his camp on Great Works Stream trapping. He was a loyal member of the Old Town Elks Lodge BPOE #1287 for 47 years and served as the Secretary for 40 years. He was the Exalted Ruler for four terms. Bob was predeceased by his parents.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marie A. (Lavoie), are his sons, Sam Martin of the Virgin Islands, Scott Martin and his wife, Erica Crosby and grandson, Noah of Waldoboro; his brothers, James and his wife, Cha of Washington State; Thomas and his wife, Annie of Topsham; Tim of Washington State; special niece and nephews: Julie Warner, Daniel and Jimmy Martin, whom they cared for; and many more nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie would like to thank her sisters and brothers for all the support and prayers. A special thank you to her sister Janet who cared for Bob during his illness and friends who prayed daily. He received wonderful care from the nurses of CenterWell Home Health and Gentiva Hospice. Bob had many visits from family dogs that gave him great comfort. Marie thanks God for all the strength he gave her to endure and show Bob all of her love during his illness.
