Priscilla Choret Smith

Priscilla Choret Smith, 81, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2026. She was born on October 8, 1944 to George and Alice (Sloat) Shorette, and was the oldest of eight siblings. The family soon moved from Bangor to Bradford, where Priscilla graduated from Higgins Classical Institute. After graduation, she married Doug Smith, her high school sweetheart and best friend, on April 11, 1964. Doug and Priscilla were blessed with the addition of their son Andrew in 1965, and their son Christopher in 1966.

As a teenager, Priscilla's life was completely transformed when she learned that a relationship with God comes not through a church, a religion, or by good works, but by placing her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was full of love for God and for people, which led to a lifetime of ministering to others through music and by teaching the wonderful truths of the Bible. Doug and Priscilla recorded four albums, and sang in many churches across the nation. They served at Pentecostal Assembly, Bangor Baptist Church, Bangor Christian Schools, Acadia Baptist Church, Charleston Church, and Glad Tidings Church.

Priscilla was also a skilled cosmetologist, graduating from Mansfield Beauty Academy and later teaching at D'Lor Beauty School. She was the manager of two salons, and then opened her own salon. Priscilla also learned a great deal about natural health, and became successful as a self-employed businesswoman by helping an untold number of people to lead healthier lives.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Doug, are her son, Christopher and his wife, Dawn, of Bradford; granddaughters, Shelby, Mariah, Camille, and Amelia; grandson, Jackson; sister, Shirley Bailey and her husband, Bruce; sister, Donna Allen and her husband, Elwin; sister, Brenda and her husband, Bruce; brother, Joseph and his wife, Cheryl; sister, Kathy Hersey; brother, Steven and his wife Helen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Priscilla was predeceased by her son, Andrew Smith; her parents, George and Alice Shorette; her brother, George Shorette; brother in law, Timothy Hersey; brother in law, Leslie Smith; and sister in law, Janet Smith.

Family and friends are invited to gather for fellowship at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at Glad Tidings Church, 1033 Broadway, Bangor, where a funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., with the Rev.
