Philip Savage

July 6, 1978 — October 14, 2025

Veazie, Maine - Philip Martin Savage Jr. went by many names. There was Phil of course but there was also Flipper, Philly, Philthy, the real mayor of Bangor, PMS Jr. and when he was teasing you, Phiiiiillllll!!!! He got a kick out of all of them but what Phil loved being called most was Daddy, Brother, Son, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew, Grandson and friend. Because no one loved family more than Phil. And if Phil loved you, you were family whether you were related or not. This made for a very large family as Phil was already biologically related to half of Bangor and a good chunk of Aroostook county.

Philip passed away on October 14, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1978, to Philip Martin Savage Sr. and Judy Brookings Santos. He was later joined by two younger sisters and a brother, whose bond was only strengthened by the regular beatdowns they gave each other and who grew up to be four best friends. His dad instilled a love of cars in Phil that lasted into his adulthood and they enjoyed regular trips to the Mecum car show in Florida. His mother instilled a love of backrubs that also lasted into his adulthood and Phil was never too old or proud to curl up next to Juju and ask for one. It was always the simple things in life that brought Phil joy - whether it be cooking, playing guitar, skiing, napping, or driving his boat into the middle of the lake to watch Judge Judy in peace.

Speaking of the lake, no one loved Lucerne more than Phil. And Lucerne loved Phil ... even if they didn't love his speedboat. When you saw smoke on the water you knew Phil was coming, or that he needed a tow back to the B-Hive because he never met a piece of machinery that didn't break down the second he bought it. When Phil finally did make it to the party, you knew it was going to be a good time. But while Phil was quite possibly the funniest human ever, much of his time was spent in the background cooking pizzas or grilling for everyone else because nothing made Phil happier than making the people he loved happy.

Phil married Cara in 2015 and they soon began the adventures that provided Phil with the greatest joy that he had known thus far. Cara and Phil treasured their time as a family, whether it be with a huge group of friends in a tropical paradise or just snuggling with their precious children on the couch. Phil loved Cara's family immensely, and they showed him a love that brought him so much strength and happiness. He will be sorely missed by Cara's parents, Jeriann Pollard, Bain Pollard and Rita Pollard, along with her siblings and their families.

Phil's ultimate purpose in life became evident when he became a father. The love for his children and the rest of his family is too big and too strong to ever leave us, even if he has. That is Phil's legacy.

Along with his parents, Phil is survived by Cara Savage and their two children, Marin and Brooks; his stepfather, Dick Santos and his mother, Barbara Brown; stepmother, Bev Anderson; sister, Jill Conley and her husband, Ryan and their son, Grayson; sister, Jana Savage and her husband, Casey Graf and their son, Teddy; brother, Andy Savage and his wife, Annie; stepsister, Kristen Santos Bixby, stepbrother, Tucker Bixby and their sons, Tyler and Sam; and stepsister, Katie Ouellette and her husband, Rob, and their daughter, Addie. Phil is also survived by 16 beloved aunts and uncles; 28 first cousins and their extended families; hundreds of special friends; and his loving girlfriend, Nell Kido. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, John and Barbara Brookings; paternal grandparents, Yvette, Martin and Anne Savage; and his uncles, Charlie Hull, and Corey Solman.

There will be a celebration of life held Monday, October 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Hill Event Center in Hermon. Come when you can and come as you are. Phil would not have wanted anything but a casual gathering of friends and family. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a savings fund has been set up for his children at Maine Savings with direct deposits made to account #1064479 or via Venmo, venmo.com/u/MarinandBrooks.

P.S.

Love you, Phil. Mean
