Paul Willis Sevigny of Holden passed away on July 1, 2026, in Bangor following a period of declining health and a recent diagnosis of brain cancer. He was born on June 6, 1947, in Franklin, NH, to Edna (Tucker) Sevigny and Frederick Sevigny.
Paul graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1969 with a degree in Chemistry. While at UNH, he met his future wife Lauralee (Lolly) Getchell, and two weeks after their June graduation they were married in Brewer. Later that year, they moved to Storrs, CT, where Paul attended the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy.
After his UConn graduation in 1972, Paul and Lolly moved to Brunswick, ME, as Paul began his long career as a Registered Pharmacist. They welcomed three daughters during their years in Brunswick before settling in Holden for the next 42 years.
Paul retired from his pharmacy career in 2010 to enjoy spending time at the family's camp, Windswept, as well as sailing the coast of Maine and traveling. After his retirement, Paul served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Wellness Connection of Maine, using his pharmacy experience to help transform the organization into a pioneer for medical marijuana in Maine. Following the sale of Wellness Connection, Paul remained close friends with fellow board members while enjoying a second retirement.
Starting in 2017, Paul and Lolly began spending part of each year in Myrtle Beach, SC, where they stayed busy golfing, biking, and fishing with a devoted group of friends. From 1982 until his death, Paul was a proud owner and officer of the Penobscot Salmon Club, the oldest fishing club in the United States. He was also an avid hunter, lifelong learner, and genuine jack of all trades. No project intimidated him, from building furniture to fixing small engines. He took great pride in his home, his family, and his lawn.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Frederick; his mother, Edna; a brother, Norman; and a wonderful stepfather, Al Jarvis.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lolly; daughters Kristina Kelshaw and husband Rod, Amanda Pattanayak and husband Jan, and Emily Sevigny and husband Brian Doyle. Always the proud Grampy, Paul never missed an opportunity to brag about his five grandchildren: Kellen Doyle, Hannah Kelshaw, and Maya, Lucas, and Oliver Pattanayak.
Paul was loved beyond measure by innumerable family members and friends. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Town of Holden's 25 Days of Kindness at 25daysofkindness.org.
Condolences may be expressed at brookingssmith.com. A celebration of Paul's life will be held at a later date.
