Levant - Paul F. Griffin Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 17, 2025.
He was born on December 08, 1936, to Doris and Arthur Griffin in Levant, Maine, where he lived all of his life, the seventh of eight children.
Paul married the love of his life, Mary Lufkin, in 1957, and they were married for 68 years.
Paul attended schools in Levant and Hermon and graduated from high school in 1954. He worked for JJ Boulter as a delivery driver for eight years, but longed to start his own filling station business. In 1967, he opened Hammond St. Esso in Bangor and successfully ran that business for 17 years. After a short retirement, he became the supervisor of the GSE shop at Bangor International Airport, where he worked for 11 years.
Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow sledding, and spending time with his family.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Mary, their devoted daughter-in-law Renee (wife of Floyd), their daughter, Linda, and their son Stanley and his wife, Emily, and his brother Galen (Peter) Griffin. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and six of his siblings: Arthur Jr, Raymond (Jim), Reginald (Al), Betty, Edna, and Marie. He was also predeceased by his son, Paul F. Griffin Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Lori; and his son-in-law, Michael Handzel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2025, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1195 Stetson Road, Exeter. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Waugh Cemetery, Levant.
