EDDINGTON, MAINE - Paul Franklin Gerald, 84, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the Maine Veterans' Home in Bangor, Maine. He was born November 30, 1940, in Howland, Maine to Leonard F. and Helen F (Coffin) Gerald.
Paul graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1959. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Lou Waugh. They eventually settled in Eddington, Maine. He was a member of the Ralph J. Pollard Masonic Lodge #217, AF & AM, of Orrington, and Anah Shriners in Bangor, Maine where he was a member of the Motor Corp.
Surviving Paul, are his son, Jeffery Gerald and his wife, Laurie, of Dedham; daughter, Johnna Smith, of Newburgh, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and sisters, Carolyn Slade, Shelby Sutherburg and her husband Lee, Alyson Coffin and Jane Gerald. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Peggy; brothers, Alan Coffin, Rodney Gerald; sister, Mary Pooler; son-in-law, Skip Smith and brother-in-law, Donald Coffin.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 10:00 - 11:00a.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S Main St, Brewer, Maine immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00a.m. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
