BROOKFIELD, CT AND BANGOR – Dr. Pamela Ruth Gilmore, 52, died unexpectedly December 22, 2014. She was born December 10, 1962, in Queens, NY, the daughter of Melvin and Ruth Gilmore
Dr. Gilmore graduated from SUNY State University of NY Medical School in Rochester, NY.
Dr. Gilmore started the Women’s Health Care of Maine practice, September 11, 2005, in a room no larger than a closet, which grew into one of the largest OB/GYN practice’s in Bangor. The practice was started to provide health care to underserved women in the Bangor area. She left in May of 2013 to join the practice of Candlewood Center for Women’s Health in Danbury, CT. Dr. Gilmore was a gifted physician and one of the first to introduce robotic surgery at EMMC.
Dr. Gilmore was a dynamic, intelligent, articulate, and sharp-witted person. She was also a loving, caring, generous, and concerned individual to her patients, coworkers, and friends. She loved RV camping, and was very devoted to her two golden retrievers, and two cats.
Dr. Gilmore is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by a brother, Douglas Gilmore; a step-sister, Debbie Fitzgerald; and the “Gilmore Girls”, Amanda Gleason, Lisa Mitchell, Lois Bergmans and Lisa Shaw.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the St. John Episcopal Church, 225 French St., Bangor, with the Rev. Marguerite A.H. Steadman, Rector officiating. Friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Church Parish Hall following the service.
