Norma Akerson

Harrington - Norma Jean Akerson, 86, died peacefully in Harrington, Maine, on May 24th, 2025. She was born in Eddington, Maine, on July 16th, 1938. She was the daughter of Lewis and Arlene Orcutt of Eddington. Norma attended Brewer High School, class of 1956. Following school, she held many jobs.

She was a jack of all trades, but her true passion was nursing, where she provided loving care and compassion to her residents. She raised 5 children in Ellsworth, and they were her pride and joy. Norma loved her Lord and Savior, reading, music, food, and coloring. Her favorite thing, though, was spending time with her family and friends. She was the best mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, or friend anyone could ask for.

Surviving Norma are: her son, Michael H. Wight and wife, Daisy, of Ellsworth; daughter, Maria Wight of Steuben; son, Thomas Wight of New Hampshire; son, John E. Condon Sr. and wife, Patricia, of Sumner; brother, Jed Orcutt and partner, Ed, of Otis; sister, Jeanette Collins of Brewer; sister, Elaine Cone of Idaho; 8 grandchildren; Kayla Brooks and husband Adam, Sally, Sunny, Connor and Michael James Wight, Nakia Wight, Ashley Condon, and John Condon Jr.; 3 great - grandchildren; Makenzi, Makenna, and Kayson Brooks; special friends, Audrey Farnsworth of Ellsworth, and Chris Garner of Ellsworth; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Akerson; son, Greg Condon; sister, Geneva Dow; and grandson, Herrick David Wight.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the North Brewer Cemetery, located on the Day Rd, Brewer.

In lieu of flowers, in Norma's memory, donations may be made to: Atlantic Shores Assisted Living at 100 Marshville Rd, Harrington, Maine. 04643.

The donations will go towards activities and events for residents there.
