Nancy Babb

October 19, 1942 — November 24, 2025

Bangor - On November 24, 2025, Nancy Babb left this earth to fly with the angels in heaven. To be whole again and leave all the symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease and Pneumonia behind, and be free.

Nancy was born on Oct. 19, 1942, to George and Geraldine Anderson. She grew up in Gardner, ME, and graduated from Gardner High School. Nancy had many friends, and when she moved to Bangor, she became employed at City Hall in Bangor and was very proud to have worked at City Hall for 30+ years in the Information Systems Dept. Nancy was part of a group called the Birthday Girls and went out with them monthly for many years.

She met her Life Partner, Jim Warren, and they were together for many years - enjoying lots of friends and activities. They traveled, snowmobiled, boated, and even built/reconstructed homes in Hampden, and in Brewer - as well as building a camp on Cold Stream Pond in Enfield, ME. Nancy was always considered part of the Warren Family - and was welcomed with much love. Upon Jim's death in 2010, Nancy sold their home in Brewer and moved into a condo in Bangor. There she was active in many social events with neighbors and friends. U of M Hockey games, and Basketball (both men and women), and many opportunities to eat out - and go for rides all around Maine.

When she began to have symptoms of memory issues, she realized that it was important to make some changes - and decided she wanted to be close to her friends and family here in Bangor, so she moved to Dirigo Pines in Orono - where she would have more support. Friends there were active, and she enjoyed those days. During COVID, it became obvious that she needed to have more support and was able to move to Westgate Manor, where she lived out her life. Staff at Westgate loved Nancy, and she loved them. And she was safe and comfortable there.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, and her Life Partner, Jim, as well as several friends, aunts, and other family members. She has one son, Todd Babb and his wife, Stacy, three grandsons, Seth and wife, Kristina, Sean Babb and Corey Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Nelson and Lauretta.

She would want to thank all of her many caregivers during her time with Alzheimer's Disease, starting with Dr. Singer at Acadia Memory Care. You all kept her safe and comfortable at all times. Niki Richards, Jackie Taylor, Doris Thompson, Bonnie Call, and all the staff at
Westgate in Bangor. Special thanks to Megan and Heather, who showed such special love and caring. Constellation Hospice and Nurse Helen. Janis Francis who was a special friend to Nancy. Janis always knew just what Nancy needed. And the wonderful folks at My Friends Place/ Memory Joggers in Bangor. Nancy loved attending this facility weekly.

Nancy will be buried in the Spring in Enfield Village Cemetery along with Jim. If you would like to attend that event, let Bev know.

If you would like to honor/memorialize Nancy with a gift, please consider either the Westgate activity fund, 750 Union Street, Bangor, Maine 04401, or Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, in memory of Nancy Babb.
