M. Janet Clancey, 90, passed away peacefully December 18, 2025, at a local healthcare facility. She was born in Bangor, May 16, 1935 the daughter of Frank and Elvina (Ferguson) Broad.

Janet attended John Bapst High School and later graduated from Bangor High School. She then attended classes at U Maine, Orono. Janet worked in childcare and served as a hospice volunteer and eucharistic minister. She was a longtime, active member of O.A.

Janet married and was predeceased by Vernon L. Holyoke. She later married her high school sweetheart, Frank N. Clancey.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Frank, are her four children, Donna Goff Jenson of Bangor, Robert Holyoke of Chipley, FL., Mike Holyoke and his wife, Nancy of Goodyear, AZ. and Jackie Bell and her husband, Thom of Portland;

stepsons, Michael Clancy, esq. and his wife, Nadia of CINTI, OH., Dr. Gregory Clancey and his wife Chiyuki of SIN.

Janet will be lovingly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her brother, Carl Broad.

The family wishes to thank Stillwater Healthcare for their support to Janet and Frank and Beacon Hospice for their loving end of life care.

A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11 am Friday, May 15, 2026, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where relatives and friends are invited to call, 10 am until time of service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service. The Rite of committal will follow at Mt. Pleasant Catholic cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor.
