Mark "Bird" William Swan died unexpectedly July 8th 2025 at his home in Bangor. He was born December 11th 1951 in Dexter, Maine, the first son of James and Jeanette Swan.

Mark, otherwise known as Bird, was a swing boogie and blues piano player, having played most of his life in numerous bands. (One Last Swing, Hot Wax, and others). He also played at the North Atlantic blues fest at least four decades, Bird could make the ivory's sing.

Bird graduated from Lawrence high School in 1970 and started at the University of Maine, dropping out soon for a job within the University. Mark also held many part-time jobs and recently finished up working from home for LL Bean customer service, which he did for approximately 10 years. He attended UMO off and on, taking courses as needed for his jobs. He met his wife, Linda Barbie, while working at the University. They were married until her death in 2016. Mark and Linda had no children, they had two dogs, Chewy and Bear, who will be laid to rest with them.

Surviving Mark is his father, James Frederick Swan Sr.; two brothers, James Swan Jr. and his wife, Jessica, and Scott H. Swan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be announced at a later date.
