Marjorie Wadleigh

November 24, 1916 — September 1, 2016

Marjorie D. Wadleigh of North Attleboro, MA, formerly of Winterport, Maine, passed gently into His arms on September 1, 2016. She was the daughter of John J. Arbuckle and Mary E. Andrews. Marjorie graduated Salutatorian from Winterport High School. She was the loving wife of Forest W. Wadleigh, deceased, and mother to Mary L. Wadleigh and Robert F. Wadleigh, both deceased, and is survived by her daughter, Karen A. Sprague (Wadleigh) of Massachusetts. Marjorie was the grandmother to Judith Fuller, Crystal Tropeano of Maine, Robert R. Wadleigh of Maine, Kevin Wadleigh of Maine, Tracy Sprague of Massachusetts, Ryan Sprague of Virginia, and Abigail Sprague of Virginia, and a great grandmother and great, great grandmother, as well as an aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was a life member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star. Marjorie was born in Merigomish, Nova Scotia, and came to Maine when she was 2 years old. She lived in Winterport for 95 years before moving to be with her daughter in Massachusetts in 2013. Marjorie would have been the longest living Winterport resident had she not moved in 2013. Her children meant everything to her and she loved being outside with her flowers.

There will be a celebration of life held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1:00 until of service on Monday. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport following the service.
