Palmyra, Maine - Marjorie Elaine (Placey) (Beaton) Sullivan fell asleep in death on September 24, 2025. She was born in Lancaster, NH, on March 7, 1939, the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Tucker) Placey (Bernice Shallow at the time of her death).
She attended grade school in Dalton, NH, and graduated from Whitefield High School in Whitefield, NH, in 1956. She became an accredited records technician. She attended University College of Bangor, in Bangor, ME, for American Sign Language. Marjorie worked selling Avon for many years. She also worked as a secretary for Thomas W. Pierce, D.O. in Pittsfield, ME. Additionally, she worked at Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Pittsfield, ME, as an accredited medical transcriptionist in the x-ray and medical records dept for more than 15 years.
She is survived by her children, Terri-Lee McGraw and her husband, Malcom; her son, Richard Nelson; daughter, Sherri-Lynn Phinney and her husband, Robert; her son, Jeremiah "Jay" Sullivan and his wife, Sarah; her son, Jared Sullivan; her daughter, Merri-Ella Greenberg and her husband, Charles; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a spiritual mother and grandmother to many others who loved her dearly.
Marjorie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1970, belonging to congregations in Bangor, Corinna and Pittsfield, ME. She enjoyed associating with the ASL group in Bangor. She found great purpose in life, teaching many about the wonderful hope that brought her so much comfort, found in God's Word the Bible.
A memorial service will be held at Pittsfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Pittsfield, ME, on Saturday, October 4, at 2 p.m. at 582 North Main St., Pittsfield, ME. She will be buried at the #10 Cemetery in Lancaster, NH.
Marjorie maintained a solid hope for the future throughout her life, that she would see all of her loved ones in the resurrection on earth. John 5:28 "for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus') voice and come out."
