Marian Janice Jakob Orr

Saco and Bangor - Marian, 87, was welcomed into Heaven on August 12, 2025 by the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Gary Indiana on February 15, 1938, the only child of Kathleen (Vanwormer) Jakob Hiscott and Michael Jakob.

Marian was a graduate of West Suburban hospital, school of nursing in Oak Park, Illinois, where she received her RN degree. Her career spanned over many states eventually bringing her to Maine. She worked at James Taylor Osteopathic hospital and Westgate Manor in Bangor and later, retiring from The Maine Veteran's home in Scarborough.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 34 years, Rev. Orris J Orr and her parents. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Renee and husband, Michael Cressey, Sons, Preston Orr and Nathan and wife, Elizabeth Orr, granddaughter Hannah "Jack" Orr

The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith 163 Center St, Bangor, 5 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2025. A private interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
