Lorraine Welch

Veazie, Maine - Lorraine (Ross) Welch passed away peacefully at her home of 50 years on August 4, 2025. Lorraine was born in Bangor on July 2, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Lester and Beatrice (Holt) Ross of Bradford, ME.

Lorraine was the devoted wife to her late husband, Eugene M. Welch, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Together they raised two sons, Jeff and his wife, Beth, of Levant, and Scott and his wife, Patty of Veazie. She had a special fondness for her grandson, Jacob Welch. She is survived by her sisters, Cynthia Wickett and Eileen Ross. She enjoyed spending time at Big Boyd Lake with generations of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Lorraine graduated valedictorian class of 1954, Bradford High School and Honor Student at Husson College, class of 1955. She had a long and successful career of nearly 30 years working at Bangor Dodge, retiring as office manager.

The family would like to give a special thank you to an angel walking among us, Kim Wickett, who's kindness, compassion and highest level of care to our mother will never be forgotten, and to a special nephew who was more like a son, Paul Wickett.

A celebration of life and remembrance will be held at Brookings-Smith Family Reception Center on September 20, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be a brief service at 1 p.m. with refreshments and fellowship to follow.
