EDDINGTON - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorna Ann Lane. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Lorna, passed away peacefully at home May 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Lorna was born on January 7, 1961, to the late Donald and Eleanor (Dean) MacDonald. While she held several jobs throughout her lifetime, her most cherished professional role was serving as the secretary at the Abraham Lincoln School, where she dedicated 21 years. However, nothing compared to the roles she took the most pride in: being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family with her whole heart.

An adventurer at heart, Lorna loved to travel, ride her Can-Am Spyder, shop, and visit casinos. Her favorite place was her little spot on Chemo Pond. There, you could find her water skiing, riding her jet ski, cruising on her pontoon boat, fishing, or simply relaxing on her swing, watching her grandchildren play in the sand. Lorna also found great joy in the beauty of the outdoors, taking immense pride in her yard, flower beds, and gardens.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Alan Lane; her children, Derek Lane and his wife, Ali, and Alicia Lane and her husband, Joel; and her beloved grandchildren, Colson, Gage, and Scottie. She also leaves behind her sisters, Donna Turner and her husband, Gary, and Rhonda Moulton and her husband, Victor; her very special Auntie, Joan and her nieces and nephews, Gilman, Dan, Matt, Carl, Chris, Heather, Theresa, and Lindsey. Lorna felt incredibly blessed to marry into the Lane family and is survived by her brothers-in-law, Carlton Lane (Rhonda), Mike Lane (Christy), and Bobby Lane; her sisters-in-law, Susan Barrett (Mike) and Cindy Bronson (John); along with many nieces, nephews, and her cherished friends, Roger and April Wood.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Shayma Kazmi, whose diligent care allowed Lorna more precious time, granting her the opportunity to watch both of her children get married and to welcome her three grandchildren into the world.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Lorna's love for nature, the family asks that you plant a tree in her memory.
