Lori B. Newcomb, a cherished resident of Bangor, Maine, passed away on October 10, 2023, at the age of 90. Born in Middlebury, Vermont, on July 29, 1933, Lori's life was a tapestry of love, service, and lasting connections.
Lori's journey was marked by dedication, both in her career and community. She retired as Postmaster of the Clinton Post Office at the age of 71, leaving a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Her love for community extended to her roles as a Town Selectman in Clinton, Maine, and as a devoted member of the Red Hatters Society, IARA, the Rebekahs. Her vibrant spirit and dedication to these organizations were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Lori's joy was found in the simple pleasures of life, like her 50-year love for Bingo. Her laughter and enthusiasm brightened the hearts of many.
In her retirement years, Lori gave back by volunteering for several community programs in Bangor, Maine, a reflection of her selflessness and love for others.
Lori was predeceased by her brother, George Sulle. She is survived by her caring sister, Patricia Lambert, who provided her with dedicated care in her final year. She is also survived by her beloved children, Russell Petrello and his wife, Melinda, Saverio Petrello Jr. and his wife, Anita, Linda MacDonald, Theresa Petrello, and Anthony Petrello and his wife, Joanne. Lori leaves behind several adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lori Newcomb's memory will forever be cherished as a testament to love, dedication, and community service. She touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of kindness and connection.
A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service.
