Linda Jean Rogers Conn
Linda Jean Rogers Conn was born May 19, 1948, daughter of Vaughn Rogers, Jr. and Ada Walker. She left us too soon on July 16, 2025. Linda was a loving sister, a devoted wife, a loyal friend, and a truly creative person. She graduated from Brewer High School in 1966, and later attended Husson College. She spent most of her career as a bookkeeper, first at Merrill Trust, later at several small businesses, Brewer High School, and Beacon Motor Company. During that time she owned and operated the Jenny Craig franchise in Bangor for several years. She was married to Jerry D. Conn for 48 years. He died in 2022, after a long period of declining health due to Parkinson’s Disease. For many years Linda and Jerry divided their time between Maine and California. They both golfed there, but Jerry was truly dedicated to the sport. When Jerry’s health declined so that they could no longer travel they returned to Maine permanently. Linda was beside Jerry every step of his Parkinson’s journey, and a dedicated care giveradvocate.Linda was known for her exquisite needlepoint. During the Clinton administration she was one of two needlpointers in Maine asked to design and stitch a Christmas stocking for a tree in the White House. Hers was one of the stockings pictured in a national needlepoint magazine. She was very proud of that stocking. She had an inordinate love of flamingos, though none of her family knew why. She also spent time doing jigsaw puzzles and reading. Her friends will remember Linda for her warmth and empathy. She committed many kind acts, never asking for recognition. She was predated by her parents, husband Jerry, sister Beth Sutherland and Beth’s husband Scott. She is survived by sisters Millie Cannon, Karen Austin and John, Nancy Greer and D. Charles, Michele Young, Dorothy Tardiff and William, Julie Lizotte and Lester. Christine Rogers, a dear sister-in-law also survives. She is also survived by brothers Arnold Westman and Kathy, Vaughn Rogers III, and Scott Rogers and Lisa. Ours is a large family, and there are aunts, uncles, many cousins and nieces and nephews.
