Lin Tai Yee

January 7, 1955 — January 21, 2026

BANGOR - Lin Tai Yee, 71, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at a local nursing home, surrounded by her loving family. After a long and courageous battle with vascular dementia, she is now at rest.

Lin was born on January 7, 1955, in Rangoon, Myanmar (formerly Burma), to Liu Wain Ho and Soung Hon Liu (Chiu).

Lin graduated from Rangoon High School, Class of 1973. Following graduation, she moved to Macau, China, where she pursued a career as a master seamstress. It was there that she met her soulmate, Raymond Ting Sun Yee. After their traditional Chinese wedding, the couple immigrated to the United States and settled in Maine, where they built a life rooted in love, family, and perseverance.

Lin was a devoted wife, loving mother, aunt, and grandmother, as well as a loyal confidant and dear friend. She had a generous heart and always put others before herself, helping anyone in need without hesitation. Lin found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved cooking for her family and took pride in sharing meals that brought everyone together. As a skilled seamstress, she found comfort and creativity in her craft, expressing her care and attention through every detail. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter, nieces, and nephews, and she had a deep affection for children from all walks of life. Known as the life of the party, Lin preferred to celebrate others rather than herself, finding happiness in shared laughter, conversation, and togetherness. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity made everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Lin's beloved husband, Raymond Ting Sun Yee, passed away in 1993, and she carried his memory with her always, looking forward to being reunited one day. Her legacy lives on through her children: her son, Wai Kue Yee, and his wife, Nancy Giron Yee; and her daughter, Kai Yue Yee. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughter, Charlotte Madelyn Yee, who brought her immense joy.

Lin is also survived by her sister, Lai King Liu, and her husband, Chan Fok; her brother, Mein Hwee Liu, and his wife, Lai Lam Liu; her sister, Lian May Liu Fung, widow of Tommy Hon Fung; and her sister, Lan Houng Liu Ng, and her husband, Wai Kuong Ng.
