Laurie A (Miller) Fosdick, 70, of Old Town, ME, a beloved Mother, Meme, and Gigi passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 20th.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Emmett L. and Agnes D. Miller. Laurie lived most of her life in West Bridgewater, MA, where she was born and raised. She recently moved to Maine and was excited to buy and furnish her new home and be closer to family.
Laurie was a graduate of West Bridgewater High School and attended Hair Dressing school. She was a hair dresser for over 30 years and thoroughly enjoyed her career. She loved animals especially her dog, Tucker and cat, Sebastian. She recently adopted a kitten she named Jethro after one of her favorite TV shows, The Beverly Hillbillies. Laurie loved all animals and always kept her bird feeders full. Some of her favorite birds to come visit were Cardinals and Mourning Doves. She was a simple woman who enjoyed car rides to look at nature and all it's beauty. She especially loved trips to Plymouth and Manomet Point, which she named the end of the world. She loved 80's music. She was funny, witty and those who knew her loved her heart. Her door was always open for a good cup of coffee and the best advice you could ever get. As well as playing her favorite card game, Kings In the Corner.
Laurie is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Bard and husband, Chuck of Old Town, ME, and Debbie Calderon and husband, Luis of Davenport, FL. She had 10 grandchildren: Evan, Aaron, Matt, Eden, Taylor, Chloe, Bobby, Olivia, Paige, and Joseph; as well as 2 great grandchildren, Naomi and Baker. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Shurtleff of Easton, MA and predeceased by her brother, Bill Miller of Norton, MA. She had 2 nephews, Jason Shurtleff and wife, Therese of Holbrook, MA and Keith Miller of Norton, MA. She was a great Aunt to Jason and Robert Shurtleff of Holbrook, MA and Kameron Miller of Norton, MA. She was predeceased by her nieces, Kristin and Susan Shurtleff of Easton, MA. She also had many wonderful friends that she enjoyed spending time with.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 25th at the Lawndale Cemetery on Stillwater Ave, Old Town ME. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversations and refreshments at the Bard House immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurie's name to the American Cancer Society.
