Larry Emmett Lancaster, 95, died October 28, 2025. He was born July 17, 1930, in Lincoln, son of Carlton and Christine (Clowes) Lancaster.
Larry graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1949. Following graduation, he attended Conn Vocational School in Elkhart, Indiana to study musical instrument repair, graduating in 1951. Larry worked at Viner Music for many years in musical instrument repair. After Viners closed, he opened his own repair shop in the Bangor area.
As a young man, Larry enjoyed flying his plane to great fishing spots, canoeing on the Allagash, hunting with his father and playing in bands in the Bangor area.
Larry married Fannie (Baker) in 1963. They eventually settled in Eddington, Maine where they resided for 55 years. Larry was a member of the North Brewer/Eddington United Methodist Church for over 50 years. After retirement (the best job he ever had!) Fannie and Larry enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, volunteering for various activities and spending time with friends and family.
Larry is survived by his children, Tina (Basil) Closson, Jeff (Lori) Lancaster and Susan (Sean) Pierce; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Natalie McFalls and Ramona Cosentino; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Fannie; and brother, Dale Lancaster.
The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlands Memory Care, Brewer, for the kindness they showed Larry and his family over the last few years.
Graveside services will be held at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Eddington, Maine at 1pm on November 4, 2025. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Meadowbrook Reception Center, 9 Lois Lane Eddington Maine after the service from 2-4pm.
