Kim Geagan Hodge, 68 of Etna, ME passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2026. She will be dearly missed by Jeff, her husband of 34 years and all who loved her. Kim was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Sandberg; father, John Geagan; step-father, Richard Sandberg; mother and father-in-law, Dorothy McGee Hodge and Gerald Hodge; and sister, Colleen Robbins.
Kim was born October 18,1957 and raised in Bangor, ME. She spent many sunny summers at the family cottage in Bayside (Northport) ME, swimming, boating and hanging out on the dock with her Bayside friends and family. Kim graduated from Bangor Schools and was in the class of 1975.
After graduation Kim began working at ANZAC, and was recognized for her specialized work on a project for NASA that took her to MA several times. She was later employed at Bangor Hardware and enjoyed meeting and helping people there. She continued working there at their request even after she moved on because she was the only one who was comfortable using their computerized inventory system, as Kim had caught the computer bug early on. Next Kim became a home caregiver for several local elders and enjoyed this line of work very much. Kim and her mother had a special bond and when her mother was aging, she moved her into her Etna home and took amazing care of her until her passing.
Over the years Kim and Jeff enjoyed improving the 95 acres of land they bought in Etna, building a home, gardens, a tree farm/wood lot and experiencing nature's flora and fauna alongside their year round bog. Kim tried her hand at raising rabbits and provided local restaurants with meat from them. Kim enjoyed spending time at camp on Sebago Lake with her husband and friends; "hard liquor & handguns" for the gentlemen and "hard liquor & hand tools" for the ladies. Kim also liked to travel - she and Jeff honeymooned in Hershey, PA, she kissed the Blarney Stone and met cousins in her ancestral Ireland, took trips out west to California and Nevada and toured southern Florida. Kim loved music, sunsets and loving her family and fur babies, especially Emma, Logan, Fritz and childhood dog Spoofer. Kim had a natural sense of humor, a quick wit and knew how to tell a good story, often blaming alter egos "Kate" for poor choices or "Clarice" for being the good one.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, Jeff; brothers, Jack and wife, JoAnn, Frank and wife, Beckie; brother-in-law John. She also leaves nieces, nephews and their spouses, Melissa and Eric Jagger, Beth and Matt Carter, Jake and Kristen Geagan, Jesse Geagan and Brooke Gherardini and Justin and Rosini Geagan; as well as several great nieces and nephews, Sophie and Joey Mitchell, Charles, Sam and Owen Jagger, Nina, Van and Taber Geagan and Eloise and Phoebe Geagan; special cousins, Kathy Doyle, Ryan and Heather Hodge and Aunt Rosalie Hodge. She also leaves several special friends from over the years, Yvonne, J.D., Nicky and Joe Doucet, Michelle and Gary Mosher.
A very special thanks to in-home caregivers Bonnie Randall & Brittaney Lindsay as well as the wonderful Northern Light hospice team for the amazing care given to Kim & Jeff.
Gifts in Kim's memory may be made to the Northern Light Home Care and Hospice program by mail at: Northern Light Health Foundation, PO Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402 or online through their website at https://northernlighthealth.org/foundation
