BANGOR - Kenneth Roy Rounsaville was born on July 15, 1931, in Hampton, New Jersey as the 3rd child of Roy Laforge & Grace Rounsaville. He went home to Heaven on Monday morning, November 17, 2025, at the age of 94. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace when he was just a toddler, his father Roy at the age of 100, as well as his brother, Orville and his sister, Jean. He is survived by three nephews, Bob Harris & wife, Ruth, of Flemington New Jersey, Richard Harris & wife, Deborah, of Lewes Delaware, and Bruce Rounsaville & wife, Amy, of Frenchtown, New Jersey; three nieces, Carol Rounsaville-Higgins, of Sedona Arizona, Deb Harris-VanWhy, of Millsboro, Delaware, and Lori Harris, of Easton, Pennsylvania. Ken is also survived by his wife, "Ellie", their sons, Gary and Mark; two grandchildren; Craig Rounsaville & his wife, Stephanie, of Springfield, Missouri, and Candace & her husband, Josh Geuea, of Clarksville, Tennessee, as well as four great-children with another on the way.
When Ken was a toddler, the family moved to Plainfield where he attended elementary and middle school. Midway through his Freshman year in high school, he went to live and work on his brother Orville's dairy farm in Frenchtown, New Jersey. Following his graduation from high school, he went to work for White Hall Farms before joining the U.S. Air Force in December of 1951. While he was stationed at the Dow Air Force Base here in Bangor, he met his beautiful wife, Eleanor Annis who was from the area. They later married on June 5, 1954 at the Columbia Street Baptist Church and were married for 71+ years.
After his Honorable Discharge, Ken found work at the Footman's Dairy in Brewer where he was employed for 10 years. In July of '66, he was then hired by the U.S. Postal Service largely due to the postal experience he acquired at the Air Force base on Iwo Jima. After 30 years, he then retired in October '96.
As the boys were growing up, they enjoyed vacations to Old Orchard Beach, Kennebunkport, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a trip over to the Green Mountains of Vermont one summer, and occasional trips down to visit his family in New Jersey.
Ken was not only a faithful and loving husband to his wife and a great dad to the boys, but he was also a sincere Christian who converted to Jesus Christ in January of 1972. Through the years, Ken read his Bible consistently, attended worship services faithfully, and loved and greatly appreciated his Columbia Street Baptist Church family.
