Kenneth Parent

Kenneth Parent, 86, passed away on May 13, 2026. He was born in Orono, Maine, on April 2, 1940, the son of William and Dorothy (Sewell) Parent.

Kenneth married Eleanor Mackenzie of Old Town, together, they raised two children, Julie and Steven. Kenny worked in maintenance in the Old Town School Department. He had many students working with him over the years in the summers, which he enjoyed very much. Kenny also enjoyed spending time on the camp he built on Donnell Pond in Franklin, hosting many gatherings of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Parent. He is survived by daughter, Julie Stinson and husband, Bob, of Orono; son, Steven and wife, June, of Searsmont, who were instrumental in his care over the years; grandsons, Kenneth Stinson and wife, Amanda, and Calvin Parent; great-granddaughter, Sofia Stinson; brother, Richard Parent; many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bangor Nursing Home and St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
