Kenneth L. Hartley, 82, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 31, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1943, in Athens, Maine, the son of William H. and Doris Clara (Lancaster) Hartley.

Ken grew up in Bangor and Hermon and graduated from Hermon High School, Class of 1962. Following graduation, he worked at the Charter House and later went on to Suburban Propane and retired from there after 40 years. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard and was a lifelong member of Triumph Lodge #119 in Hermon.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sally Irene Redman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Clayton, Billy, Charlie, Maxine, Larry and many special in-laws.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sally of Hermon are his son Brent Hartley and his wife Cathy, Lisa Chapman and her husband Stan, Vicky Edwards and her husband Adam, all of Hermon. Grandchildren Corey, Casey, Shawn, Samantha, Daniel, Benjamin, Logan, Jayden, Parker and Bryce. Great-grandchildren, Bennett, Willow, Griffin, Chandler and Callaway. Step-grandchildren, Susan, Stanley, Sherrie, Dillon, Sydni and many step-great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Ken will be remembered by many for his strong work ethic and his kind gentle personality. He never had a harsh word for anyone and was very chivalrous. He loved dancing with his wife and loud music (especially Elvis) that he gave to all of his children. He was an animal lover and cared for all of the family pets.

A celebration of his life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
