Kenneth Day Jr.

October 26, 1939 — January 6, 2026

Corinth - Kenneth U. Day Jr, 86, of Corinth, Maine, died January 6th, 2026. He was born October 26th, 1939, in Bangor, Maine, the son of Kenneth U. Day Sr and Evelyn M. (Rowe) Day. He graduated from Bangor High, where he was involved in the ROTC program and the National Rifle Association.

Ken was employed by Jordan's Meats for 20-plus years. Friends and family developed a love for red hot dogs and juicy steaks. He was an avid Outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and snowmobiling. Ken could plant a garden that others envied. He loved fish, rather it be the tropical fish in his aquarium or the fish he caught in Moosehead Lake. Furthermore, his favorite place was the camp on Moosehead Lake.

In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his wife Joyce (Delessio) Day; his son, Kenneth U. Day III, and his partner, Linda Armstrong.

Surviving, in addition to his loyal dog Kineo, are his daughter, Amy (Day) Collins and her husband, Rodger D. Collins Jr., of Glenburn; a sister, Mary Ellen (Day) Metcalf and her husband, Henry "Hank" Metcalf; and four grandchildren, Bryan Day, Daniel Day, Elliott Collins, and Caleb J. Collins; five great-grandchildren, Emma Day, Kaylie Day, Camden Day, Addison Day, and Cooper Day.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
