VEAZIE-Kenneth "Ken" Cosman died unexpectedly, May 6, 2026, at his home in Veazie, Maine at the age of 91. He was born in Woodstock, Canada, the oldest of five boys to Murray and Elsie (Smith) Cosman, on May 14, 1934.
The family moved to Houlton shortly after Ken was born and he and his brothers went on to graduate from Houlton High School. He went to work for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad a few years before marrying Maxine Albert in June 1959. In 1962, they welcomed their only daughter, Cindy and made a move with the railroad in 1974 to Hampden, Maine. A decade later they moved into their home in Veazie, Maine. At both Military Street Baptist in Houlton and Essex Street Baptist in Bangor, Ken served as a deacon as well as financial secretary for the church. Ken enjoyed long walks, spending time at his wife's family camp on Drews Lake and he really looked forward to celebrations and holidays that involved a big meal. He often finished off dinners with dessert, defying his 6'2" thin frame.
Ken is survived by his wife, Maxine, who he celebrated over 66 years of marriage; daughter, Cindy and her husband, Carl Lozier of Bucksport; grandchildren, Aimee Lozier of Bucksport; and his namesake, Kenneth "Kenny" Lozier and his wife, Amanda and their two daughters, Cecilia and Madelyn of Old Town; his youngest brother, Max Cosman of Eastford, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents; along with his brothers, Paul, David and Gerald.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2026 at 1:30 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to your local food bank/cupboard.
