Kathleen “Kathy” (Dee) Ropiak, 68, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2025, in Hampden. Born on April 4, 1957, Kathleen touched many lives as a preschool teacher at Wing Park and Penquis Cap in Bangor, and later serving the community at the Daily Bread Cafe at Lafayette Cancer Center in Brewer, as well as a deli associate at Hannaford.

A graduate of Plainville High School, Kathy was known for her loving nature as a mother and grandmother. She cherished her time spent with grandchildren, reading, taking walks on the Brewer River Walk, watching tennis matches with Roger Federer, and enjoying summers on Square Pond.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Megan Ropiak; son, Michael Ropiak and his wife Lindsay; grandchildren, Noah, Julian, and Kai; daughter, Alicia Ropiak; sister, Joanne Kich and her husband Frank; brothers, John Dee and his wife Beth, and Jim Dee and his wife Julie. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas E Dee, and her parents, Jo-Anne (Doyle) Dee and Thomas D Dee.

A service to honor Kathy’s life will be held on May 2, 2025, at 11 am at Brookings Smith, 133 Center St, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathy’s memory can be made to Save the Children or Special Olympics, supporting causes she deeply cared about.
