Karen M. Grant, 82, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 at a Bangor hospital with her family by her side. She was born January 12, 1944, the daughter of George and Rita (Lambert) Milner.

Karen graduated from University of Maine, Orono, and entered the workforce as an educator. She spent over forty years in this field, most notably at Merritt Elementary School in Addison and her work with Keeping Children Safe as a training coordinator before she retired. She married the love of her life, Dennis Grant. Together, they raised three sons, Christopher, Alexander, and Kameron, until Dennis' passing in 1989. Karen never remarried, instead she devoted her life to her children and their families.

Karen dedicated her life spending time with her loved ones and family above all else. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, Bunco with good friends, and loved watching her family struggle to keep up with her in a good game of Oh Hell! Some of her fondest memories were spending time on Spring River Lake during the summer months watching her family play and grow. In recent years, Karen would often look forward to spending her winter months in Florida enjoying some warm sun to help the cold winter months pass. While at Solstice Senior Living she loved to be a part of the Ambassador's committee working with new friends and staff to help others.

In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was predeceased by her brother, George Milner; and sister, Diane Borda. She is survived by her sons, Chris Grant and wife, Andrea, Alex Grant and wife, Betsey, and Kam Grant; grandchildren, Taylor Grant, Tucker Grant, Dennis Grant, Austin Grant, Molly McCarthy, Shane McCarthy, Savanah Grant, Alex Grant Jr., Kayden Grant, Kaitlyn Grant, and Kolton Grant; special niece, Cindy Curtis and her children, Angie and Dan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshment at Karen's Celebration of Life, 1PM, Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Big Cats Catering, 163 Bar Harbor Rd. Trenton, ME. Interment will be private.
