Joyce Brown

Joyce Brown of Hampden ME passed away on August 9, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in Hampden on July 30, 1938 to the late Paul and Clarise Patterson. She was first and foremost a loving wife and mother to her husband and two children. For many years she cared for her sister Rita who suffered with cerebral palsy. She worked in the postal service as a clerk in Hampden, supervisor in Bangor and finally as postmaster in Winterport. Joyce enjoyed camping with her friends in her early days as well as gardening, knitting and reading in her spare time.

She is predeceased in death by her husband Roland Brown, brother Arthur Patterson and sister Rita Patterson. She is survived by her bother, Vernon Patterson and wife Judy, daughter Kathlyn Worzel, son Richard Brown and wife Jeanie, and two grandsons Michael Brown and Darren Brown.

Joyce was loved by all who knew her and she will be truly missed.
