Jordon "Jordie" D. Cain
Beloved son, brother, friend
March 9, 1993 -June 30, 2025
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - With unimaginable heartbreak, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jordon D. Cain, at the age of 32.
Jordon was born on March 9, 1993, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. From a young age, with his quiet confidence and curiosity he developed a passion for computers, spending hours exploring, building, and learning; a passion that would define his path and touch many lives.
A proud graduate of Hampden Academy's Class of 2011, Jordon was one of the top students in his class. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida. After graduation, he and his father took a memorable cross-country trip to California, filled with a shared excitement for the job that laid ahead.
In California, Jordon began his career at Blizzard Entertainment and later with Riot Games as a computer engineer. Through his dedication and skills, Jordon recently earned a well-deserved promotion to Senior Software Engineer; a recognition of his hard work.
Outside of work, Jordon enjoyed an online presence as a gamer, streamer, and VTuber. He brought laughter, joy, and authentic connection to a wide network of friends and followers. With warmth, Jordon always made space for others, greeting everyone with genuine conversations, he made it feel personal, safe, and full of fun.
He was a devoted fan of all things Japanese and shared his passion of anime with his best friend Kier Jackson. A passionate collector of anime figurines, he attended conventions every year, connecting with others who shared his love.
Though immersed in technology, Jordon was often described as having an old soul. As a child, he was just as comfortable having thoughtful conversations with adults as with his peers. He especially loved sitting with his grandfather, listening intently to stories about the "olden days"; stories he carried close to his heart.
Jordon is survived by his parents, Terrance and Diane Cain; sister, Abigail and her husband, Thomas Richards; brother, Brandon and wife, Robyn Cain, and many other extended family members, friends, and colleagues. He will be missed by his very special friend, Kier Jackson, a best friend to Jordon since childhood. His passing leaves an immeasurable void, but his impact, both online and off, will never fade.
A celebration of Jordie's life will be held on August 16, 2025, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street Bangor Maine, from 1:00-3:00 pm. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend, share memories, and honor the extraordinary life he lived. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jordie's name may be made to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.
