John Frederick Clifford

BANGOR - John Clifford, 61, passed away on March 27, 2026, at a Bangor hospital. He was born on September 27, 1964, at Toul-Rosiere Air Base in Toul, France, to the late William J. Sr. and Catherine "Kay" (Chapman) Clifford, while the family was stationed at Chaumont Air Force Base.

A 1984 graduate of Bangor High School, John went on to attend Husson University's NESCom. He was a dedicated veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division known as the Screaming Eagles. Though he faced significant health challenges, he fought his battles with immense strength and resilience.

Known for his larger-than-life presence and big heart, John was an avid sports fan, coach, and umpire. He found great joy in the outdoors and was most proud of his role as a father. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first grandchild later this year.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Daniel Clifford. He is survived by his children, Michael Keith, Kyle and his wife Kasidy, and Paige. He also leaves behind his siblings, William Clifford, Cathy Stearns, and Mary Daley.
