Joanne Smith

BANGOR - JoAnne Smith, 84, died unexpectedly on March 31, 2024. She was born December 17, 1939 in Bangor, Maine; daughter of Harry E. and Josie (Babine) Delahunt.

JoAnne graduated from Bangor High School in 1957, and she worked for the phone company as a telephone operator for 33 years. She was an active member of Columbia Street Baptist church for 79 years.

Surviving are JoAnne’s son, Michael Smith of Bangor, ME; daughter, Terri Brackens (Russ) of Collierville, TN; daughter-in-law, Tracey Smith of Hampden, ME; six grandchildren (and spouses); two great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Kendall Smith (Sherrill) of Illinois; sisters-in-law, Marcia Smith and Eileen Delahunt; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, JoAnne was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Warren E. Smith; her son, David E. Smith; her brother, Harry E. Delahunt; and her brother-in-law, David W. Smith.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for the funeral at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Brookings-Smith: 133 Center Street, Bangor, ME. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments following the service at the Family Reception Center of Brooking-Smith: 163 Center Street, Bangor, ME.
