Jeffrey "Jeff" Blackwell Jr., of Dedham, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 13, 2025.

Born to the late Jeffrey Blackwell Sr., Jeff was a devoted son and brother whose easygoing nature and generous heart touched everyone around him. He is survived by his loving mother, Rose Woodside; his sister, Carrie Cushman; his step-brother Chris Woodside; and his loyal dog, Cooper. He was predeceased by his father, Jeffrey Sr., and his stepfather, Willie-Roy Woodside, both of whom he cherished deeply.

Jeff found joy in life's simple pleasures. He looked forward to Sunday football and family dinners, cheering passionately for the Boston Celtics, and spending quiet moments playing video games with Cooper by his side.

Jeff found a special kind of joy and fulfillment in helping his family. He often worked alongside Willie-Roy in the garden, a place that became a sanctuary for them. Together, they'd spend hours nurturing their plants, a quiet, shared passion that strengthened their bond.

Jeff's helping hands were just as invaluable to his mother. He'd show up ready to assist with whatever she needed, whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, planting flowers, or simply moving heavy furniture. These weren't just chores to him; they were opportunities to spend quality time with the two people he cherished most. His willingness to help wasn't born out of obligation, but from a deep well of love and a genuine desire to make their lives easier. He always approached these projects with a can-do attitude, and a passion to support his family.

Jeff's warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held on Tuesday September 23rd at 1:30 pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share memories. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bangor Humane Society in Jeff's honor.
