During that time, she was a communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Janet worked for the State of Maine for three years, then for the U.S. Government for 28 years, retiring in 1994.

She loved to travel and vacationed in 10 states and 7 countries with either family or friends. In 2011, she moved to Bangor, where she became a communicant at St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel. Janet was grateful that her family was always there to be sure that her needs were met.
